Fine Dust Filter -Electrostatic Precipitators for Wood-Fired Systems
Our products include electrostatic precipitators for wood firing systems that can be used in biomass systems from 100 to 6500 kW. In addition to our tubular electrostatic precipitators, which include both dry electrostatic precipitators (APFenergySmartFilter™ and APFenergyTowerFilter™) and wet electrostatic precipitators (APFenergyWoodgasFilter™) for wood gasification systems, we also offer ceramic filters (APFenergyCeramicFilter™) based on the cartridge filter principle.
The modular design and products for heat recovery, remote access and pre-separation of particles enable a very high degree of separation of the electrostatic precipitators.
APF Fine Dust Filters: Ceramic - and Electrostatic precipitators
Electrostatic precipitator principle
Our electrostatic precipitators include dry electrostatic precipitators (APFenergySmartfilter™ and APFenergyTowerfilter™) and wet electrostatic precipitators (APFenergyWoodgasfilter™) and are based on the tubular electrostatic precipitator principle. These electrostatic particle filters are integrated into biomass-fired wood combustion systems in industrial, commercial and district heating applications. The combustion material can vary from pellets to wood chips and other wood chips to ensure efficient particle separation and flue gas cleaning. APFenergy filters are designed for biomass systems with an output of 100 to 6500 KW. How an electrostatic precipitator works The design of an electrostatic precipitator is based on electrostatic separation, in which the charged particles in the flue gas flow are separated by an electric field. The dust particles in the exhaust gas are negatively charged by means of spray electrodes and collect on positively charged pipes, which are cleaned at intervals. A detailed description of the technical process can be found on our functionality page. The tubular design of the electrostatic precipitators in the APFenergyFilter series enables an even distribution of the exhaust gas flow, so that a separation efficiency of over 95% can be achieved.
Cartridge filter principle
The APFenergyCeramicFilter™ is a cartridge filter that has been specially developed for the separation of very small dust particles and offers a high degree of separation. Like the electrostatic precipitators, it is fitted to wood-fired boilers powered by pellets and wood chips with a boiler output of 500 to 6500 KW. The flue gas flow is guided along the filter cartridges, where the fine dust remains. This type of filter is particularly suitable for systems with a fine dust content of

Consultation for electrostatic and ceramic filters
In addition to electrostatic precipitators for industry, we also offer comprehensive filter advice. As our products can be individually adapted and combined, our experts will be happy to help you find the optimum design for you. Depending on the requirements of your wood-burning system, we recommend certain products, taking into account important criteria such as the preferred filter type, boiler output, available space, combustion material and legal regulations. By integrating products such as downstream heat recovery systems and upstream separators, we offer additional benefits such as energy and space savings as well as improved separation efficiencies.
All these factors are carefully considered in an individual filter consultation. Our team in Salzburg is available throughout Europe to provide you with the ideal fine dust filter for your requirements in a timely manner.
Simplification of planning, installation, assembly and commissioning
APF products simplify many of the processes involved in the complex realisation of biomass heating plants in terms of planning and licensing, as their use significantly reduces the number of interfaces and thus the planning effort involved in the implementation process.
The use of individual components such as multicyclone, electrostatic precipitator, ash handling at the furnace and filter, heat recovery and flue gas discharge leads to a reduction in costs due to the combination of
-
firing/boiler with flue gas recirculation,
-
APF filter with integrated cyclone, flue gas bypass, Eco with hydraulic modules
-
coordinated ash handling
leads to a significant simplification of planning, installation, assembly and commissioning by reducing the number of interfaces while at the same time saving space and thus reducing investment costs.
Service
In addition to our products, we also offer service for the entire life cycle of ceramic and electrostatic precipitators. In addition to detailed filter advice, planning and production, our services also include installation and commissioning after delivery, as well as regular maintenance in the following years.
